Nestled in the heart of Woodway, Texas, sits a building that has meant more to its community than any set of blueprints could convey. For decades, the Woodway Family Center has been more than just brick and mortar—it has been a place where kids learned to play fair, neighbors became friends, and community spirit found a home. But now, that legacy is under threat. In 1971, local visionaries Newman Copeland and John Bowden granted land to the Waco Boys Club with a very clear purpose: the property was to be used exclusively for youth recreation. The legal deed included a reversionary clause, stating that if the land was ever used for anything else, ownership would revert back to the original grantors or their successors. It was a safeguard—a promise to future generations. Fast forward to 2004. The nonprofit Woodway Family Center, formerly the Woodway Boys' Club, transferred the property to the City of Woodway. Why American Hispanics should vote Republican

We know 70% of American Hispanics aka Latinos, voted for Democrat, Barak Obama, but why? I've come to the conclusion that the reason has nothing to do with core values , but instead, has to do with how they feel. More like, how they perceive they are being treated. Realizing the mainstream media's new job is to advance propaganda in unison with the Democrat Party, it's easy to see why the narrative of Republicans = Bad, Democrats = Good has stuck in the minds of Hispanics. In short, I don't blame them for voting as they have. They're mainly just following the news they see, which pounds into their brains the notion that Republicans hate Mexicans, immigrants, and anyone who is not White. But I do blame these same Hispanics for not seeking the truth. When you're only following, and not interested in truth, we have a problem. I had the honor of walking through Liberty Hill Cemetery recently, filming a guided tour that opened my eyes to just how much history is tucked away in this quiet corner of Woodway. This isn’t just a cemetery—it’s a record of the people who came before us. Early settlers. Veterans. Entire families who built this area from the ground up. Every headstone tells a story, and in this mini-documentary, you’ll hear about many of them. What struck me most was how much of our local identity is connected to this place. It’s sacred ground. End the Libertarian Takeover in Texas GOP

I knew this day would come when our desperate effort to beat Barak Obama would come back to haunt us. In Texas and across the country, many Republicans opened the tent a little wider and let in the Libertarians. Countless Republicans welcomed them with open arms, but I was leery for good reason. They came in under the Tea Party banner, many disgruntled Republicans and others just fed up with government spending and out of control debt. Riding the wave of Libertarian-leaning Conservatives, Ted Cruz, from the Tea Party movement, effectively positioned himself for a US Senate run and won with Republican voter support. Back then, we had "Unity Rallies," where the Tea Party worked for Republicans to Unite behind their candidate. And like good Republicans, we did. In the end, Ted Cruz was the Republican Nominee, and most Republicans cast their vote for him. Speaking for myself, I felt, since we voted for their guy (Libertarian choice Ted Cruz)...

Latino Democrats - Crabs in a Bucket

I am a Hispanic American, U.S. Air Force veteran, Christian, business owner, father, and husband. I grew up poor, raised by a single parent, and lived with my grandparents, aunts, and uncles in the barrio. My family worked in the Mexican restaurant business, serving barbacoa, carnitas, menudo, tamales, and fresh corn tortillas. I know my heritage intimately. Despite my deep-rooted Hispanic identity, I have encountered criticism from some within my community who believe I’ve lost my way, as if I’ve abandoned my roots. These critics often say I seek acceptance from "the white man," or they poke fun at my name, Duke, suggesting it proves I want to be white. This mindset reflects a troubling confusion; they misinterpret my ambition and desire for success as an abandonment of my culture. It’s disheartening to see that, in today’s world, striving for achievement is equated by some with selling out. But here’s the truth: this behavior exemplifies the old "crab in a bucket"...
