Socialists Sliding Into Office Under our Noses

Duke Machado, Republican Activist

I remember when I first moved to Waco, over 20 years ago.  I heard McLennan County was the "reddest" county in the state, and that Central Texas was a strong Republican area, with Conservative principles, and people with a strong faith in God.

And it was and is in many ways still.

But those old days are changing.  New Progressives have taken the reigns of the Democrat Party.  They bring Socialist ideology, and "new" ideas, claiming to care deeply for the non-whites in the city.

They believe, without a doubt, that whites have had the privilege for so long, that it is time to grant privilege to the brown and black people of the city.  In truth, this is just an excuse to create classes for their future Socialist utopia.

They mean to say, It's sad you've been oppressed for so many years...here's a few measly tokens of our appreciation, motivated by our guilt.

As a "brown" person, or a "POC" (Person of Color), I want to set the record straight.

Keep the money.  We don't need your hand-outs.  We don't want the pity.

We have the American Dream on our side, where we get to wake up each morning and create our own destiny.  We don't need your guilty, privileged life to grant this dream to us.

There is a saying, that to teach a man to fish is better than feeding him fish.  Even the stray dog or cat comes to the food.

Will "people of color" always be dependent on your grace?  In your eyes, yes.  In my eyes, never.

Your attempt to level the playing field is actually killing the dream.  You try to give, yet no gains are made.  Why is this?

I can tell you.  It is because the brown and black people you know, are dependent on the government for food, housing, and more.  But not all brown and black people are dependent on the government.  We have dreams.  We want more.  We're working for more.  We're risking more.

You have made the mistake many do.  You lump us all into one basket.

We aren't all the same, and to many of us, the pandering is obvious.  We don't need our elected officials to give us free things.  We aren't asking for hand-outs.  We just want the government to stay out of our way.

Find another way to deal with your guilt.  Don't assume we're looking for you to save the day.

To my fellow Conservative White friends and family, thank you for not treating me like someone who can't make it without the government.  Thank you for believing in me.  Thank you for holding me to a high standard.  Thank you for treating me as an equal.
