It's hard for me to watch the video of this violent male student choking out a teacher without immediately going into a rage.
I know it's been happening for years, High School students getting away with more and more at our schools, with teachers unable to defend themselves for fear of being sued by the young adult's parents.
I graduated High School in 1989, in San Marcos, TX. Less than 10 years later, I returned and visited the school administration, to say hello. What I found out was the sickening reality of thug kids taking over our schools. I was told, with no holding back, "these kids are bad. It's not the same anymore."
The system we have, since doing away with punishing kids, is to coddle and understand their needs. Democrats / Liberals are against the idea of punishing bad behavior, opting to try to get in the mind of the offender. In today's public schools, it's politically incorrect to suspend bad kids, and heaven forbid we make them feel bad by placing them in a separate campus with other misbehaved students.
Teachers are expected to take abuse from these vile so-called students who threaten, beat and shove our teachers around. Who is standing up for our teachers?
In this video, the student had his phone taken away. I don't know why, but it must have been for good reason. There is NO respect for authority in our schools, and this abusive young adult is not the only example of disrespect.
Already paid less than they deserve, our public school teachers have no choice in the matter. They either go along with the game and continue to be abused, or they quit. In the end, the bully students win and all the good kids lose. What message does that send to our good students? "Hey, we know we're placing these thugs in your midst, deal with it because no one is going to help you." What kind of learning environment is that?
So what will happen to the savage young adult in this video? He should be charged with assault and put in jail where he belongs. I know some will say, "But Duke, he's a kid who doesn't know any better. It's not his fault." Yes, it is his fault. It's also his parent's fault. They should be responsible for their child's actions. These bad students are capable of making decisions and are fully aware of their actions. Like the killers who enter gun-free zones to kill their victims, these bad kids know what they can get away with.
I am sick and tired of hearing stories about how these terrorizing students have their way in our schools. It is time to bring back the paddle and time to remove terrorizing students from the general student body. Put them in isolation so they can get used to their future life.
