Say Goodbye to Sanctuary Cities in Texas!

I remember when Democrat politicians went around telling people, "We must have the ability to allow illegal immigrants who are victims of crimes to feel comfortable enough to report them."

They claimed illegal immigrants were so overwhelmed by violence and crime within the illegal community, yet they couldn't come to the police to report the crimes, for fear of being deported.

They wanted to ignore our laws and look the other way, even calling on the teachings of Jesus Christ, who tells us to help those in need.

But what was it really?

It was a way for these cities to foster false hope, votes, and shield millions of illegal immigrants from current law.  These Liberal, Democratic Controlled cities created an environment where these same illegal criminals mentioned earlier, are able to maneuver around without fear of repercussions.

Now, in Texas, the State Legislature has passed a Bill which, among other things, gives our law enforcement agencies the right to ask whether or not someone they've arrested, is here legally or not.  Long overdue!

And, if a City Mayor wants to stand his ground, there will be financial assistance withheld from that city.  If these cities want to defy state and federal laws, there will be a price to pay.

Here's the deal, you can have compassion, but you can't be in violation of current laws.

And guess what, this is NO SURPRISE to anyone here illegally.  Trust me, they know who they are.  They know there is a day of reckoning coming.

So, in a way, they've been expecting something to go down. Some are dealing with their issues, getting remotivated to get straight with their status.  Others are contemplating moving back to their country of origin.  Yet others are holding out, waiting to see what the U.S. is going to do about the situation.

They see strong Border talk, deportation crackdowns on criminals illegals, and they get frustrated with the Republican Party.  They think we're heartless, unwilling to help everyone.  And, the news they watch tells them so.

As I said, they know their situation.

That said, I do advocate for a common sense solution.  I am in support of immediately deporting all criminal illegals, like rapists, murderers, violent offenders, illegals with DWI's, robbers, and those involved in kidnapping, to name a few.

But that segment of illegal immigrants who are here to work, contribute, worship, provide for themselves, live within our laws, respect America's Constitution and live in harmony with Americans, then I am willing to give them the opportunity to earn temporary status, as long as they are approved through strict criteria.

We've got to know who's here.  We don't need to deport 12-20 million people, just those who are causing problems and taking money that should go to Americans first.

Thank you, Texas Legislators for standing strong, and especially Governor Greg Abbott for seeing it through!
