Just a few minutes ago, an article I wrote, Bexar County Shuts Down Republicans, was read over 20,000 times.
The article was about what happened in San Antonio, home of the "Castro Brothers," two Democrat elected officials whose connections run deep. (Rumor is Julian is a future President.)
San Antonio is in Bexar County, and the local government is dominated by Democrats. The city claims to be an "International City," and is accepting of everyone, all cultures, whether you're here legally or illegally.
San Antonio, if you don't know, is also a Sanctuary City.
The Republican Party of Texas just so happens to be hosting its State Convention in Downtown San Antonio in June, and as usual, the Democrats organized a protest, to be given a chance to speak on behalf of several organizations, with media present of course.
LULAC was there, as well as the Texas African American Chamber of Commerce. Lots of photographers, people capturing the "inspiring moment" with their cell phones.
Also in the crowd, was a fellow Republican, Weston Martinez. He was there with Cynthia Brehm, Candidate for Bexar County Republican Party Chairman. They were there to counter the protestors.
They sat patiently, and when the last speaker was done, Weston approached the podium and asked Tommy Calvert, the Bexar County Commissioner who created the event, if he could say a few things in response to the speakers.
In short, they turned the lights off on him, took away his microphone and cleared the room when he was speaking. They also heckled and interrupted him, intentionally trying to silence him.
The article I wrote, was published yesterday at 5pm. It had 50 reads in 10 minutes. 100 in 13 minutes. It jumped to 300, then 700, then 3,000. At midnight last night, it had 7,400 reads. This morning it was at 11K. During the day, I saw the facebook post being shared, people furious about what happened in San Antonio.
I took a screenshot of the notification when it hit 20K reads. In less than 24 hours, the article had been read 20K times, from Japan to Mexico and Germany to Afghanistan.
This one struck a nerve with Republicans, and I think it is the beginning of a groundswell. .
