Hispanic Students told "Trump wants to Deport you"

Something happened at La Vega High School recently.  Republicans have always known many of our public schools are breeding grounds for Liberal activists bent on recruiting new young voters for the Democrat party.

In most cases, the actions are not spoken of and rarely brought to light, but sometimes, they are caught red-handed.

What Happened

Mr. Mario Ruiz, a 17 year teacher, is the epitome of the person we fear exists in our school system.

In Mr. Ruiz' Spanish Class, guest speaker Robert Aguilar Sr., a local business man, well known Tejano Democrat and "inspiring" figure in the life of Mr. Ruiz, was invited to speak about the value of education.

To his students, Ruiz expressed how much of an inspiration Aguilar has been in his life, establishing him as a respected voice and authority in the Hispanic community.  Someone to be trusted.

Aguilar began his speech with economic statistics, showing the students the advantages of earning a higher education.  But midway through his speech, he changed direction and tone.

"Who in this room can speak Spanish?" Aguilar asked.  The students responded by raising their hands.  The large majority of the students are Hispanic, and speak Spanish, so they were grouped by show of hands.

Those remaining who did not speak Spanish, were the White and Black students.

Aguilar further asked them to divide themselves into male and female, within their racial divide.

With the class fully segregated, Aguilar pointed to the Hispanic students and said, "Now all you who raised your hands, Trump wants to deport you."  Pointing to the White students he said, "Now you'll be OK because you're white, but all you ( pointing back at the Hispanic students) are going to be deported."

Aguilar continued to stoke fear and continued to down talk President Trump, doing his best to convince these young students that their President wanted them deported.  Aguilar also mentioned to the students that Trump only sees White men as successful and believes women should be made to stay in the home.

Unfortunately for Ruiz and Aguilar, one 1/2 white, 1/2 Hispanic student, grouped in the Hispanic crowd, stood up and said, " But what about me?  I'm a US Citizen, Trump doesn't want to deport me."

After the Speech

The student who disagreed with Aguilar's Statement (my niece), re-told the details of the speech to her mother, who immediately contacted the school and spoke with Mr. Ruiz and scheduled an appointment to visit with La Vega High School Principal and Mr. Ruiz about the blatant abuse of school facilities, and the anti-American culture that exists in his classroom.  For the record, the Principal did not attend the meeting.

"He is wrong for lying to my daughter and those children," says Katie Hughes, mother of student who witnessed the Aguilar speech.  "Why was Mr. Aguilar left alone with our children, while he was allowed to mislead them and scare them half to death?" asked Hughes.

Hughes questions the intentions of Mr. Ruiz, who claimed to know nothing of Aguilar's political positions, yet also claimed he was a mentor and inspiration.  Hughes expressed a deep concern for a process that allows a known operative, Tejano Democrat and propagandist like Robert Aguilar, to have access to our students.

What Next

Those students went home that day thinking Trump is going to deport all Hispanics.

As far as Democrats are concerned, this was a total success.  Except for one or two people who stood up against what they were being told, most of the students generally were in agreement.  Why?  Because when they hear Univision and CNN saying the same thing, it must be true.

In reality, it is not true.  Aguilar is an agitator, who preyed on our students.  He, with the approval of the teacher, who has the authority of La Vega High School, intentionally planted seeds of lies and manipulation.  His obvious intent, since these students are not currently voters, is to get them to go home and repeat this to their parents and turn out the vote.

I'm not sure what violations have taken place at La Vega High School, but as a citizen of this local community, I am appalled at the flagrant abuse and intentional propaganda being allowed to take place at a Texas public school.  There was no opposing view provided.  There was no alternative information or insight offered.

When approached by Hughes, Mr. Ruiz said, "I apologize for your daughter having her feelings hurt.  It was not his (Aguilar's) intention to hurt anyone's feelings."  He offered to invite Aguilar to a meeting so he could explain what he said, and to reiterate how he never intended to hurt anyone's feelings.

This isn't about feelings

While it sounds like an apology, Mr Ruiz is not sorry for inviting his friend Robert Aguilar Sr., or for what he said.  He is not sorry for leaving his class unattended.  He is not sorry for the message that went out to the students, only sorry that Hugh's daughter was not able to handle what was said.

The day following Mr. Ruiz' meeting with Hughes, he pulled the student from class, took her into the hallway, and questioned her, "What is going on?  What is this all about?"

This is about immoral political tactics employed by the Democrats in our Texas public schools.  This is evidence of a culture of acceptance of anti-American sentiment.  According to Hughes, Ruiz mentioned that Aguilar is a frequent speaker at Waco schools.  It is my hope that the leadership at La Vega High School is not of the same mindset, and will take action to ensure no one is allowed to use lies and propaganda to influence our children at school.

Call for Action

I call for the banning of Robert Aguilar Sr. from speaking at any public school within McLennan County.  His hateful, racist rhetoric is toxic and only fans the flames of hatred.  I also call for an official apology from La Vega ISD and denunciation of Aguilar's claims.

Americans of Hispanic heritage have nothing to fear.  We must stand for this country over any other.  We must stand together when others stand against us and attempt to divide.  We don't believe the Robert Aguilar's of the world, who go around beating a false drum, parroting socialist propaganda.  Americans of Hispanic Heritage are proud of our accomplishments, and we have succeeded on every plane.

What works for all Americans of Hispanic decent as well as all Americans period, is when government stays out of our way and allows us to create our own fortunes.  Our capitalist system rewards risk takers and planners.  It rewards hard work and investment.  If we can believe it we can achieve it.

I speak for myself and maybe a few others when I say, shame on Mr. Ruiz, shame on Robert Aguilar, and shame on the Democrat Party.  I hope I don't have to say shame on La Vega High School and La Vega ISD.
